A hard disk drive (HDD, or also hard drive) is a fixed data storage device that stores data on a magnetic surface layered onto hard disk platters.
A hard disk uses rigid rotating platters (disks). Each platter has a planar magnetic surface on which digital data may be stored. Information is written to the disk by transmitting an electromagnetic flux through an antenna or read-write head that is very close to a magnetic material, which in turn changes its polarization due to the flux. When it comes to the recovery of data from a hard disk, the best option for any firm is to use the Raid data recovery method. It is a very complex process that tries to repair the damage done by the client before sending the hard disk to the data recovery firm. It is never advisable for a user to try and recover the data himself. These clients may use certain system utilities tools in order to repair the array, but they may very often cause even more trouble. And, as when things go bad, they usually do when the data is critical, these hard disks should be directly taken to a firm that is specialized in data recovery. For example, previous happenings have showed that, when a RAID failure occurs and results in the loss of important data, somebody’s job is on the line! If the data is not recovered, then things get quite complicated, for the employee, as well as for the employer. Continue reading “Good Things To Know About Raid Data Recovery”

Booting issues, virus attacks, or corrupted file systems are very much present in any exchange or mail servers and can cause many of your archived email messages to apparently disappear. Companies which rely heavily on email communication and do not have back ups might find this a pervading problem. But data recovery designed specifically for email recovery can fix this problem. Here are a few examples of data recovery steps in three of the most widely used email clients:IncrediMail Email Data RecoverySelect File | Data and Settings Transfer | Transfer from Old Computer… from the menu in IncrediMail email client. Click on the OK button. Click Open then click OK. IncrediMail Email data recovery process will then start.Once done, a dialog box will appear, indicating that the data recovery process is finished. Click OK.IncrediMail will auto-restart to complete the data recovery process. Outlook Email and Other Data Recovery Select File | Import and Export… from the Outlook menu. In the drop-down menu that appears, select Import from another program or file. Click Next. Run your mouse over the Personal Folder File (PST) to highlight it. Click the Next button again. Using the Browse button, select the backup copy of the PST file you want to recover from your backup location. On the dialog box, place a check mark on the box that says Replace duplicates with items imported to start the data recovery process. Click Next. Once the data recovery process is done, click Finish.Outlook Express Email Data Recovery Select File | Import | Messages… from the Outlook Express menu.Choose the Outlook Express version that you have as the email program to import from.Click the Next button. From the dialog box, make sure that you again choose the right Outlook Express version.Click OK.Select the folder containing your back up copy of your Outlook Express mail store by using the Browse button.Click Next.Choose which folders to import and the data recovery process will start.Click Next; then Finish to finalize the data recovery process. It is a fact that exchange and email servers are a vital aspect of any company. So to protect this fragile part of your company’s IT asset base, you need a splendid back up program and state-of-the-art data recovery system that has been tested and proven effective in its job. Computer Data Recovery provides helpful information on hard drive data recovery, computer power supplies, computer data storage and numerous links to useful computer products.

At some point in time, everyone who owns a computer will experience
the trials and tribulations of hard drive failure. The reasons behind it vary,
and could include everything from a human error to damages resulting
from flood or water. Viruses can play a role as well, along with many other
factors. For many years, the need to recover data that has been lost or
destroyed has made data recovery such a very valuable asset. Continue reading “All About Data Recovery”

All of us who have used computers at work or at home for any length of time have encountered the maddening experience of losing or accidentally deleting a file that we need. Incidentally, data recovery is a necessity of modern life.
Luckily, all modern operating systems have a built in automatic data recovery utility. But, what if the data itself has been corrupted or we lose a file in a complex system without an undelete option? I’ll attempt to answer that very question as well as, “What is data recovery?” “Who does data recovery?” and “How is data recovery accomplished?”
Data recovery is the process of restoring a file system. The file system and file structure are maintained by the operating system. The operating system maintains a record of every file stored on a disk as well as where that file is located in the disk memory space. You can think of the operating system’s record of every file as a list of pointers to the space in memory where each file begins. When a file is deleted, the operating system goes into its list of pointers and removes the pointer to that file. The file itself has not moved and it still inhabits the same place in memory completely unchanged. The only thing that has changed is that the operating system has removed the record of that file from the list of pointers and made that memory space available, or free if you will, to other files to be saved in the future.
So, when you hit the undelete button, what you’re doing is telling the operating system to put the pointer to your lost file back into its record of pointers and back into your file structure. Unfortunately, if another file had been saved before you tried to undelete, it may have overwritten part of your lost file. This along with the complexities of some data and file systems as well as the value of the data itself may require the skills of a professional data recovery company.
Data recovery companies employ engineers with years of training and experience working with different file systems and hardware. The best data recovery companies use proprietary tools to restore the file structure on different file systems. If the data file itself has been corrupted, they use specialized software to repair the file depending on its type and amount of damage. They may each have their own tools for recovering lost data but they all follow the same basic steps.
The first step is to diagnose the problem. Was the data lost by accidental deletion, is the file system corrupted, or is there a problem with the disk or other hardware? If the problem is with the hardware, the disk may have to be taken into a clean room. The clean room is a room where the microscopic dirt and dust is kept down to a point where it cannot damage the microscopic electronics and components of computer hardware. A hardware engineer will work on the disk and get it operational without affecting what’s actually stored on the disk.
Once the disk is operational, the data recovery engineers will make a copy of the entire disk. Then they can start restoring the file structure and make a list of all the directories and files on the disk. They will also test each file for damage and make repairs if possible. Finally, they can put the restored file system and repaired files on a new drive for the customer.
As you can see, the process of data recovery is a simple one, but the tools and skills required are beyond the scope of the average Joe. Professional data recovery companies have to keep up with constantly changing technology including hardware and software and the skills necessary to do so only belong to highly trained engineers. Therefore, when choosing a data recovery specialist, you want to look for a company with a proven track record of success with the hardware and software you have.

Common And Easily Remedied Computer Problems
There are a number of easily remedied computer problems that users often fear will require data recovery. Fortunately there are a number of equally easy solutions to many of these problems. There are a number of reasons computers can act up. Some may be powered up correctly, others may have incorrectly connected or poorly connected cables. It is important you investigate all potential problems before panicking and assuming our data has been lost. Continue reading “Top Computer Problems Leading To Data Recovery”

When Data Recovery Becomes Impossible
We’ve all been using computers for a while now and I bet none of us have been spared from at least one data loss related problem in our technical “career”. Data is so easily losable that you’re practically forced to make backups for everything you have, for obvious safety reasons. Data loss can occur due to several reasons, including: Continue reading “When Data recovery Becomes Impossible”
